We took our new and exciting spring/summer women’s collection made up of beautiful and bright leathers, comfy and light womenswear and chic leather handbags, to our SS19 locations, with views of the landscapes that inspired it. And luckily we didn’t have to venture far as they are right on our doorstep. Seeing as we’re blessed with such a beautiful home in breath-taking surroundings of the Lake District, we thought we might as well make use of it.

It’s got to that point in the winter season where we are looking forward to seeing the start of spring. We have been eagerly awaiting our spring/summer collection for 2019 to inject some colour into our wardrobes, introduce our new leather designs (we have created our first vegetable tanned women’s leather jacket!), and to see the return and reworking of some old favourites.

Location 1: The Samling

We prayed for sun in amongst the February bleakness and thankfully, sun is what we got, we were even complaining that it was too bright. Typical. You pray for sun then it comes and blinds us all at once, we came prepared with woolly hats and all - not sunglasses!

We spent the majority of our day at the beautiful The Samling Hotel, one of the Lakes’ most luxurious destinations, idyllically located overlooking Windermere with expansive Lake District views across the World Heritage Site. The Samling was extremely accommodating and let us use their Elter Water apartment as our ‘base’ for the day. Seeing as the rarity that is the February sun blessed us with its presence we were able to make use of The Samling’s picturesque surroundings, shooting in the grounds and gardens.

And the interior is just as wonderful as the exterior, inside we shot our model perched at the bar and in the restaurant, with a delightful looking afternoon tea… and still we can’t decide, is it jam then cream, or cream then jam?

Location 2: Brockhole

Mid-afternoon we headed a short 5 minutes down the road to our 2nd destination, Brockhole. Best known for being the ultimate kid-friendly outdoor adventure destination. And although our model doing the tree top trek adventure course would make great photo content, we wanted to stay firmly on ground and use the impressive view that is Lake Windermere. Beautiful flowers provided by Green House Floristry helped make the wintery landscapes a little more spring and summer appropriate for our collections of summery leathers.

After what felt like a whirlwind of an afternoon we made our way back to The Samling to catch the sun set and most importantly that ‘golden hour’.
