You may have heard of the term influencer marketing, if not, it’s a form of marketing where the focus is placed on influential people. We thought it was about time to embrace the trend and social media culture. So, we recently hosted our very first influencer evening at our Bowness-On-Windermere store.
We invited 8 influential women, all with connections to the Lake District, to learn more about our brand, our heritage, what we stand for and where we are going. Through teaching our leather story, Lake District heritage and our enthusiasm for our garments to a group of influential women we hope to alter the perception of leather and create awareness of Lakeland Leather as a fashion destination for women of all ages, shapes and sizes. Amongst the attendees there were fashion influencers, lifestyle bloggers, models and even a shepherdess!
The influencers were encouraged to try on leather jackets and also presented with gift bags which other local brands - Grasmere Gingerbread, The Little Lakeland Soap Company and Daisy Chain Studio donated to.
The social content posted and created by the influencers will be used on Lakeland Leather social platforms and, along with future collaborations, help embrace the micro-influencer culture as a smaller independent retailer.
You can follow Lakeland Leather on Instagram at @lakelandleather for all the latest content or to learn more about our influencers take a look at their Instagrams: @quirkytraveller, @missekg, @simoneoaks, @lilykatefrance, @loukneath, @redshepherdess, @jadeohodgson, @rhoyally_chic
